Perhaps it was divine intervention that Vivian Springer was the Rutgers Women's Basketball team coach at this point in time. This was the first time that the Rutgers Women's basketball team had ever reached the Women's Basketball Tournament finals. And under Mrs. Springer's tutelage they achieved a lofty goal to be celebrated for all times. Her deportment, her grace, her dignity and class was in my estimation far and above all of the ranting and raving of the (who asked you) spokespersons addressing the Imus situation. To quote Mrs. Don Imus upon meeting with the Rutgers Women Basketball Team, "they were courageous and beautiful women".
Although, Mr. Imus is off the airwaves, we must not bury our heads in the sands of complacency but we must hold all of those on our airwaves to the same standard by not allowing hurtful, degrading remarks to be spoken by any one White or black. Let's not preach to the choir, but lets understand that this behavior as a standard is still out there.
